Bob DeShane has been competing in Minis since the 1970's. First, in Solo 1 & 2 events with Peterborough Motor Sports Club and later with VARAC. Pictured below is Bob in the 96 Mini at Waterford Hills, Michigan where he won overall in the under two litre class and placed third in the Trans-Am class.

The car is a 1964 Morris Cooper'S' 1275 delivering over 150hp through a close ratio, straight cut gearbox.
Craig DeShane grew up with Minis, MGs, Marcos, Triumphs, Jaguars, Austins, Morris cars all around him, including his dad's solo and race Minis. So, it was natural that he would want to go racing and that he would choose to do that in a car of the "vintage" that he loved. Besides, he and his fiance (now wife) Robbin already had a Bugeyed Sprite for the road. So why not acquire one for the track when the chance arose?
Here is Craig in his Race Bugeye at Mosport.

And here he is after getting way too much grip in Turn 3 at Mosport. He did wrestle the car down without going over.
